Abstract: The aim of this research is to examine the role of emotional intelligence and work stress on employee performance, with job satisfaction as an intervening variable Study at the Regional Secretariat of Pekalongan District. This study is a survey research, utilizing primary data with a sample of 111 employees within the Regional Secretariat of Pekalongan District as respondents. The hypotheses are tested using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) equation model. The findings of this research indicate H1: Emotional intelligence has a significant positive effect on employee performance. H2: Emotional intelligence has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction. H3: Work stress has a significant positive effect on employee performance. H4: Work stress has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction. And H5: Job satisfaction has a significant positive effect on employee performance.
