Information Plagiarism Policies

This Plagiarism Policy applies to all journals published by Himalayan Publisher.

Himalayan Publisher is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity, originality, and ethical publishing practices. Plagiarism in any form is considered a serious violation of publication ethics and is strictly prohibited. The publisher ensures the originality and authenticity of all research published in its journals.

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism refers to the use of another person’s ideas, words, data, images, figures, tables, or research work without proper acknowledgment or citation. This includes:

  • Direct copying of text without appropriate citation
  • Paraphrasing another author’s work without proper attribution
  • Using data, images, or ideas without acknowledgment
  • Presenting another individual’s work as one’s own
  • Duplicate publication or redundant publication
  • Self-plagiarism or text recycling without proper citation

Self-plagiarism occurs when authors reuse substantial portions of their own previously published work without appropriate citation or disclosure.

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using recognized plagiarism detection software, including Turnitin, before the peer-review process.

The plagiarism screening process compares submitted manuscripts against published scholarly literature, academic databases, internet sources, and previously published materials to identify textual similarities and potential ethical concerns.

Authors are solely responsible for ensuring the originality and authenticity of their manuscripts before submission.

Acceptable Similarity Limits

A limited degree of textual similarity may occur due to references, standard scientific terminology, methodology descriptions, or properly cited quotations. However, manuscripts containing substantial copied content, unethical overlap, or unreferenced material may be rejected immediately.

The editorial office reserves the right to evaluate the nature, extent, and context of detected similarities and determine whether they constitute plagiarism or acceptable scholarly overlap.

Self-Plagiarism and Duplicate Publication

Authors must disclose any prior publications, conference papers, preprints, or overlapping manuscripts related to the submitted work.

Reproducing substantial portions of previously published content without proper citation or justification is considered self-plagiarism and may result in editorial action.

Simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals is strictly prohibited.

Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism or unethical overlap is identified before publication, the manuscript may be:

  • Rejected immediately
  • Returned to the authors for correction or clarification
  • Subjected to additional editorial review

If plagiarism is discovered after publication, the journal may take corrective actions including:

  • Retraction of the published article
  • Publication of corrections or editorial notices
  • Notification to authors’ institutions or affiliated organizations
  • Temporary or permanent restrictions on future manuscript submissions

Serious ethical violations may be reported to relevant academic or institutional authorities where necessary.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are expected to:

  • Submit only original and unpublished work
  • Properly cite and acknowledge all sources used in the manuscript
  • Obtain permission for copyrighted material where required
  • Ensure transparency regarding overlapping publications or reused content
  • Follow ethical citation, referencing, and publication practices

Appeals and Explanations

Authors have the right to respond to plagiarism findings or appeal editorial decisions. Appeals must be submitted in writing to the editorial office with a detailed explanation and supporting evidence.

All appeals are reviewed carefully by the editorial team, and decisions are made in accordance with publication ethics guidelines and journal policies.

Policy Compliance

By submitting a manuscript to any journal published by Himalayan Publisher, authors confirm that their work is original, ethically prepared, and free from plagiarism or unethical publication practices.

Himalayan Publisher remains committed to promoting academic honesty, research integrity, ethical publishing standards, and the credibility of scholarly communication across all its journals.
