Adyasha Suvadarshini,
Bidhu Bhusan Mishra
Youth market is always regarded as a potential and lucrative market for the current day retail marketers due to its utter magnitude. The youth consumers are dynamic, fickle and demanding which forces the marketers to concurrently research upon the changing wants and preferences of youth. Youth demonstrate idiosyncrasy towards buying of products that gets reflected in their buying decision-making styles. The following paper, thus, is an attempt to understand the buying decision-making styles of youth by delving the pages of extant past literature. The paper roofs the past studies which have applied Consumer Style Inventory (CSI) derived from Sproles and Kendall model to identify decision-making styles of Indian youth as well as youth belonging to different nations. From the critical review of youth decision-making literature, it is pretty evident that there is variability with respect to number of decision-making styles confirmed in a particular country or cultural set-up. Therefore, from a multi-country perspective, it can be generalized that young consumers display the original CSI traits of high-quality consciousness, brand consciousness, recreational-hedonism, confused due to over choice and impulsiveness and slightly modified CSI traits of value-seeking and fashion-consciousness. The completely unique but relevant decision-making traits extracted from studies, undertaken in different countries were variety seeking, satisfying and value seeking, time energy conserving, information utilization consciousness, loyal trendsetters, store loyals and self-identity consciousness. The findings of the study may stand relevant for the marketers and retailers who often face dilemma while formulating innovative marketing strategies for the youth segment.

Asset Structure, Corporate Governance, Capital Structure and Financial Performance of Construction and Manufacturing Firms Listed In Kenya
Financial performance of listed firms draws attention not only from the government but also shareholders and other stakeholders. The management thus works around the clock to implement the strategic plans as well as turnaround strategies. To achieve this, more emphasize is on investment and financing decisions including the general corporate governance as key ingredients of boosting financial performance of firms in Kenya. Existing empirical studies have focused on the study variables even though not collectively. To fill the gap, the study therefore sought to establish the moderating effects of capital structure and corporate governance in the relationship between asset structure and financial performance of construction and manufacturing firms listed in Kenya. As guided by agency and stewardship theories, post positivist research paradigm and explanatory research design were used. Secondary panel data collected from 12 listed firms was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. From the panel regression analysis results, both noncurrent as well as current assets positively and statistically significantly affected financial performance. Given interaction analysis, capital structure had a negative and insignificant moderating effect in noncurrent assets-financial performance linkage. On the other hand, capital structure positively and significantly moderated current assets-financial performance linkage. Moreover, a positive and significant moderating effect of corporate governance was documented given the nexus between noncurrent assets and financial performance. Similarly, corporate governance positively and significantly moderated current assets-financial performance linkage. The study thus concluded the existence of enhancing moderating effect, since increase in capital structure increased the effect of currents assets on financial performance. Moreover, corporate governance was an enhancing moderating given that its increase led amplified the effect of asset structure, that is, noncurrent and current assets, on financial performance. Other than the findings having theoretical and practical implications, further research was expected to extend the scope, model as well as measurement approaches for study variables.

Binomial False Positive Error Screening: An Essential Aspect of the Best-Practices Audit Panoply
A recent research report introduced the use of the Binomial Probability Density Function [B:PDF] for arriving at an Exact False Positive Error [FPE] and illustrated its use in the audit decision-making context. The illustrative context was the prototypical RePerformance & ReCalculation [Rp&Rc] audit-testing protocol. The Rp&Rc illustration detailed the critical role of the FPE in forming Extended Procedures [EP] testing-boundaries that are usually part of the Analytical Procedures [AP] phase of certification audits. The treatment (i) evaluated the standard Normal-approximations as indexed over the projection regions, but only considered the LHS-quadrant away from the Max-B:PDF-point, (ii) did not detail the asymmetric non-directional computation-i.e., the two-tailed context, (iii) did not consider the Excel™-limitations of creating factorial computations, and (iv) tacitly assumed that the audit InCharge [IC] would have the time, expertise, or inclination to create the B:PDF FPE-screening information. In the AP&EP case, it is clear that a Decision Support System [DSS] is essential to effect such a FPE-Binomial-Screening protocol given that Best Practices requires that the audit is effectively & efficiently executed. Specifically, efficiency is served by using a DSS to create discrete testing protocols for datasets, the ilk of which, are Rp&Rc in nature, and effectiveness by considering the trade-off between the B:PDF and the standard approximations in the two-tailed inferential context. In this research report these lacunae are addressed. A DSS is presented that (i) creates B:PDF information used in forming the AP&EP-information be it symmetric or not, (ii) benchmarks FPEs from the Normal-approximations using those from the B:PDF to create a Learning-Loop, and (iii) navigates between the Binomial and the Approximations when there are sample-size incompatibilities re: forming the appropriate AP&EP inference context. The DSS, called The FPE Profiler [FPEP:DSS], is offered as a download free of charge with no restrictions on its use.

Influence of Top Management Support on Adoption of E-Government in National Government Administrative Units in Migori County, Kenya
Christopher Ogola Odero,
Andrew Songoro Nyanga’u
Implementation of electronic government initiatives is a major goal in Kenya as evident in the country’s National ICT Master Plan of 2018-2023. In 2011, the access and usage of computers was estimated at 8.4 per cent and the use of Internet to access government services was at 6.3 per cent. By 2017, the use of computers was reported by 75.1 per cent of public sector employees and the provision of online government services had increased to 43.4 per cent of the public institutions. However, even with the increased usage of modern technologies by most government institutions, the National Government Administrative Units in Kenya are not keeping pace in adopting new technologies. Paper-based service delivery in the sector has caused inefficiencies which has negatively affected provision of services. This study therefore evaluated the institutional determinants of electronic government adoption in the National Government Administrative Units in Kenya, with a reference to Migori County. The study specifically investigated the role of Top Management Support, ICT Policy Framework, Human Resource Capacity and ICT infrastructure in determining adoption of electronic government in the National Government Administrative Units in Migori County. Two theories, the Diffusion of Innovation theory and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology were utilized to guide this study. The study employed quantitative research methodology and descriptive research design. The target population for the study comprised the 340 National Government Administrative Officers in Migori County. A sample of 184 respondents was selected for the study using stratified sampling. Data was obtained by closed-ended questionnaires and analyzed descriptively for mean, frequencies and standard deviation using SPSS version 22. The study also utilized inferential analysis for correlation and regression to provide complete relationships between the study variables that were studied. The response rate was 90.8%. Regression results indicated that there is a positive and significant relationship between institutional determinants and adoption of e- government of the administrative units of Migori County. The study therefore concluded that a willing and supportive management, implementation of ICT policy framework, skilled human resource and good ICT infrastructure leads to adoption and smooth running of e-government platforms. Moreover, the study recommended managerial and policy adjustments so as to enhance successful implementation of e-government programs in the National Government Administrative Units.

Revisiting Determinism in Postcolonial Digital Humanities: Decentering scientific technology in the Knowledge Economy of Literary Discourse
This paper set out to investigate limitations of the current emphasis of Postcolonial Digital Humanities on the metanarrative of scientific knowledge. Drawing from structuralist and post-structuralist insights in qualitative research, the paper argues that scientific knowledge inscribed in the digital humanities cannot claim a universalist, neutralist and ahistorical character because it is a kind of ideological knowledge and is therefore susceptible to discursivity. Therefore, there is a need for a historicizing model of knowledge economy that is premised on the digital, but at the same time, exposes knowledge as ‘interested’, active, lively and creative in the realm of society rather than as mute, indifferent and disembedded from economic narratives.

‘Communities of Practice’ In the Knowledge Economy and Their Tacit Contexts in Continental African ‘Writings’: Rethinking Bruno Latour’s Actor Network Theory
This paper set out to investigate the tacit contexts in continental African literatures that are more critical to the knowledge economy from the light of ‘communities of practice’ in order to valorize the view that knowledge is embedded in the construction of the new, post-industrial society. Therefore, literature can be a potent pedagogical resource because it is not created in a vacuum, but is constructed by the social experience of the knowledge economy and its technologies. Drawing from Bruno Latour’s Actor-Network Theory as an explanatory paradigm of the ‘communities of practice’ technology in today’s knowledge economy, it found that the tacit environments as explored by scholars of the literature are extremely rich in potentially conflictual narratives that have to do with sub-narratives of intentionality, historicity, politics, ideology, morality and so forth. It concluded with proposed guidelines on how to manage the ‘communities of practice’ technology in such ways that it would be sensitive to tacit environmental issues that literature as a pedagogical resource proposes and at the same time would be productive and emancipative to emerging nation states.

Every nation aspires to develop its urban and rural areas. The paper explored the effect of financial sector development on agricultural growth in Eswatini using annual time series data from 1990 to 2019 employing the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) to evaluate the short-run dynamics. Variables included in the model were; the agriculture value added, agriculture employment, real gross fixed capital formation in the agricultural sector, and ratio of M3 to GDP, domestic credit to private sector, inflation rate and real interest rate. Secondary data on obtained from the Central Bank of Eswatini and the World Bank Database online. The Augmented Dickey-Fuller test and Johansen co-integration test were conducted before modelling. The results revealed that that development in the financial sector plays a crucial role in boosting agricultural growth. Agricultural growth requires investment in capital formation, adequate labour force, broad money supply, low and stable levels of inflation and domestic credit to rural farmers. The study found an inverse relationship between inflation, interest rate and agricultural growth. The existence of the inverse relationship will encourage agricultural growth and development in the economy.
