Research  Ethics Policy -

The Himalayan Journal of Economics and Business Management is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of research ethics. Our research ethics policy serves to ensure the integrity, credibility, and ethical conduct of research published in our journal. Below, we outline the key components of our research ethics policy:

Ethical Oversight:

  • Research involving human subjects, animals, or sensitive data must receive appropriate ethical approval from institutional review boards (IRBs), ethics committees, or relevant regulatory bodies.
  •
  • Authors are required to provide documentation of ethical approval or exemption from ethical review when submitting manuscripts reporting research involving human or animal subjects.

Informed Consent:

  • Authors must obtain informed consent from human participants involved in research studies, including consent for participation, data collection, and publication of findings.
  • Informed consent procedures should be clearly described in the manuscript, detailing how consent was obtained, who obtained it, and any measures taken to protect participants' confidentiality and privacy.

Protection of Human Subjects:

  • Authors must ensure the welfare, rights, and dignity of human subjects participating in research studies.
  • Research involving vulnerable populations, such as children, prisoners, or individuals with diminished capacity, requires special consideration and safeguards to protect participants' interests.

Care and Use of Animals:

Research involving animals must adhere to established ethical guidelines and regulations for the care and use of animals in research. https://www.forskningsetikk.no/en/guidelines/science-and-technology/ethical-guidelines-for-the-use-of-animals-in-research/

Authors are required to provide documentation of compliance with animal welfare regulations, including details of housing, husbandry, anesthesia, analgesia, and euthanasia practices.

Data Integrity and Management:

  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and reproducibility of the data presented in their manuscripts.
  • Data should be collected, recorded, and analyzed with transparency and rigor, following best practices in research methodology and statistical analysis.
  • Authors should retain original data and research materials for a reasonable period and make them available upon request for verification and replication purposes.

Authorship and Contributorship:

  • Authorship credit should be based on substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research.
  • All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors, while others who have contributed in a meaningful but less substantial way should be acknowledged appropriately.

Conflict of Interest Disclosure:

  • Authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could bias their judgment or compromise the integrity of the research or publication.

  • Conflicts of interest may include financial relationships, personal connections, or competing professional interests that could influence the research process or outcomes.

Reporting Guidelines:

  • Authors should adhere to relevant reporting guidelines and standards for the specific study design or methodology used in their research.
  • Adherence to reporting guidelines, such as CONSORT for randomized controlled trials or STROBE for observational studies, enhances the transparency, completeness, and reproducibility of research findings.

Transparency and Reproducibility:

  • Authors should provide sufficient details and documentation to allow others to reproduce their findings.
  • Transparent reporting of methods, materials, data, and results facilitates scrutiny, verification, and replication of research outcomes, contributing to the credibility and trustworthiness of scientific research.

The Himalayan Journal of Economics and Business Management is committed to promoting research integrity, ethical conduct, and responsible publishing practices. Our research ethics policy emphasizes the importance of ethical oversight, informed consent, data integrity, authorship integrity, conflict of interest disclosure, and transparent reporting. By upholding these ethical standards, we aim to foster trust, accountability, and credibility in the research published in our journal and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in applied medical sciences.
